How To Choose a Solar Maintenance Company in Arizona

A solar system is a 25-year commitment being serviced in an industry where companies routinely do not last ten. Arizona homeowners have watched a wave of installers close their doors — which means the question “who maintains my system?” is no longer answered by “whoever installed it.” Here is how to choose the company that touches it next, and the red flags that should end a conversation.

The eight checks

1. An Arizona ROC license with electrical scope. Solar service is licensed electrical work. Ask for the number and look it up on the Registrar of Contractors site — it takes one minute. (Ours is ROC #331356.)
2. Manufacturer certifications. Certified partners can work on equipment without endangering its warranty and can pull manufacturer support when a component fails. We hold certifications with Tesla, Sunrun, SunPower, SMA, SolarEdge and Enphase.
3. They service any brand — including orphans. A real service company works on whatever is on your roof, whoever installed it. If your installer is gone, that is not a dead end; the orphaned-system guide covers exactly this situation.
4. Published, written pricing. You should know what the visit costs before the truck rolls. Our diagnostic is $199, a full inspection $299 — in writing, every time. Vague “we’ll take a look” pricing is how surprise invoices happen.
5. Photo documentation as standard. Every visit should end with photos and a written report — what was found, what was done, what to watch. If a company’s findings live only in a technician’s memory, so does your evidence.
6. A warranty on the work. Repairs should carry their own workmanship warranty — ours covers everything we touch. A company that will not warranty its service is telling you something.
7. Roof competence, not just electrical. Solar problems and roof problems share real estate. A service company that understands flashing, sealing and Arizona underlayment catches the leak forming under a mount — an electrician-only outfit does not look.
8. Local, accountable crews. Ask who actually shows up: employees or a subcontractor network. Our crews are our own W2 employees, which is why the quality is consistent enough to guarantee.

The red flags

No license number on the website or truck. Pricing that only exists after a salesperson visits. A “maintenance” pitch that keeps steering toward selling you a new system. No physical Arizona presence. And reviews that mention disappearing after payment — in this industry, read the one-star reviews first; they tell you how a company behaves when something goes wrong.

What maintenance should actually include
